Summerlands Estate Community Orchard, Cranleigh

Waverley BC Ranger (Lucie Poole), supported by the Summerlands Conservation Group and COPSE, commenced planting a small orchard on the Summerlands Housing Estate, with trees supplied by Adams Apples, funded by the Betty Riseley Trust and Surrey County Council Climate Commission funds! 

​We planted a sunburst cherry and apples including Ashmead Kernal, Reverand Wilks and Bloody Ploughmans, with further apple trees to be planted in early March. The plans are for a wildflower meadow to develop under the orchard. The space includes an old pear, apple and damson trees, remanent of an old orchard, prior to the Estate being built.
