At least no water, nearby? This was a question we posed ourselves when the lockdown of Spring brought unexpected drought conditions not ideal for newly-planted fruit trees. In particular, the orchard at Puttenham has young trees at some distance from the nearest tap at the Hog's Back Café. Well, we searched online and found the answer! The H2Go Bag, pictured below! Filled up from the stand pipe at the Hog's Back Café, Gareth wheelbarrowed the water to the thirsty trees, all of which are coping with the dry weather and flourishing. We are visiting the orchard monthly to check on the trees, water and adjust supports as needed, so this orchard has the optimal chances of doing really well in this establishment phase.
