The heritage apple trees included several Pippin varieties, local Surrey trees including Braddick Nonpariel, Duchess’s Favourite, Claygate Pearmain, a Sussex Crawley Beauty and a Schoolmaster espalier along a former fence-line. Many thanks to all who came along to support.

In March we could not attend the annual Surrey Biodiversity Conference, but did make Haslemere’s Great Green Get Together, with COPSE providing a talk, walk, planting an apple-tree and assisting Jane Devlin with her Smoothie Bike from the Chidd-Green team! Earlier in the week we helped St. Bartholomew’s after school club, The Den, with a quince supplied and planted by Peter Clarke of Haslemere Rotary and an Schoolmaster espalier donated by RHS Wisley and planted by COPSE. We also planted the final Jubilee apple, an Arthur Turner within an orchard in the fantastic Woolmer Hill Garden, created by Sally Spaarkogel
