COPSE planted four fruit trees in winter 2022, with Waverley Borough Council Development Officer Kate Douglas and Parsons Green tenants, in a small space, with a cut and collect conducted within an 8m x 8m area of grass (http://www.copseorchardproject.org/blog/archives/09-2023), between the fruit trees in September 2023. During mid-March we scarified an 8m x 4m section of this grass-space, sowing a neutral lowland meadow seed-mix. We hope to have a flourishing meadow, with wildflowers, butterflies and developing fruit, for the summer-time. The Green also supports a mature walnut tree and a Golden Delicious apple tree transplanted by WBC in winter 2023.
