On a cool, damp afternoon in December a new orchard underwent fruition on Roman Farm Open Space with 6 stone-fruit trees planted, including Hauszwetsche Plum; Dittisham Ploughman; Hauszwetsche Plums; Dulling Golden Gage; Victoria Plum; and a Dennistons Superb. Trees were supplied by Surrey County Council Trees Team, planted by Surrey University Accommodation Team, orchestrated by Ben Carter from Guildford Borough Council’s, The Hive and supported by Christa Emmett from Surrey Wildlife Trust's Wilder Communities. Specials to Surrey County Council for funding the project through their Surrey Community Nature Recovery Grant and Guildford tree officer James-Pieter Berry for the green lights!
