Claire used a re-chargeable strimmer for the first time today, generously funded by Your Fund Surrey, for the cut and collection at Parsons Green wildflower meadow and to cut Enton Allotment Orchard in Milford. Despite two July heat-waves and a dry June, Parsons Green trees looked well, including the Golden Delicious transplanted in winter 2023. Dry, sandy sites, such as the Watts Gallery Orchard have suffered from the heat and lack of rain. Although one of the trees showed signs of wilting hopefully it will recovery and elsewhere the plum crop looked bountiful. Luckily this weekend saw much needed rain!
