Back in 2021, in the shadows of Covid, Grayshott Parish Council instructed COPSE to engage with the local community, to share their thoughts on a new community orchard proposed adjacent to an Allotment site and how this orchard-space could be used. The orchard was eventually planted in winter 2023 to 2024, retaining existing mature oak trees that plot-holders were concerned about being removed to accommodate the orchard. During Grayshott fete the Orchard Group had a stall inviting residents to visit this new village asset, 35 newly planted mixed orchard including apple, pear, medlar, almond, cherry, quince, plum, damson and apricot.
