Eashing Cemetery Fruit Care Day and Orchard Trail

​COPSE assisted with a Fruit Care Day at Eashing Cemetery in collaboration with Waverley Borough Council. We tied and weeded the walnut avenue; tin-snipped the cages to set the cherries free; weeded the plums; removed tall grasses on the south-facing bank adjacent to the exotic fruits; and watered some of the trees, especially the recently planted apple trees, though not the quince which appeared to have suffered from a very wet spring. We also consulted on a new Godalming Railway Station to Eashing Cemetery Orchard Trail, taking in new and established traditional orchards, via sunken lanes and past ancient woodland.
