Our last event of 2024 was to assist Surrey County Council with planting 20 fruit trees within The Bothy, Norbury Park, just south of Leatherhead. COPSE assisted with the planting and gathered information from attendees, on how they would like the space to be utilised. Located within a walled garden setting, there appears to be a lot of user groups nearby and within Mickleham Parish, who we hope can make the most of the orchard space. See our feedback below from attendees.
Earlier in the month Haslemere Tree Wardens helped plant some SCC fruit trees at St. Alban’s Church, Hindhead.

On a misty morning in late November, Gareth with the help of two keen volunteers from Ermine (Waverley Borough Council Housing Contractors) set-out 10 planting spots for fruit trees at Eashing Cemetery, for children from St. Marks School on Ockford Ridge to plant. The following week with the help of over 10 pupils and helpers from the School and the Cemetery Gardening Team, we planted the trees to the rear of the Cemetery. Thank you to the School, Garden Team, Ermine and Godalming Town staff for your help. 2025 will be the final planting event to complete this Orchard Trail.
