As a result of a resident’s call to Waverley Borough Council informing them that there were daffodil bulbs planted in memory of past residents on land due to be demolished at the entrance to Queen’s Mead, WBC asked Claire and Gareth Matthes of COPSE to dig up and rescue the bulbs for storage and eventual replanting on completion of the new housing scheme. COPSE dug up and removed a large amount of bulbs following the guidance of two residents, who had indicated where they remember seeing them in bloom earlier this year. Approximately 14kgs of bulbs were rescued and stored.
